Stand Firm Golden With Vigor In Silence

This last weekend I was invited to the "Last Gasp", which is one last outdoor hooray before we are plunged into winter, and what seems like perpetual darkness. I was able to work up a quick sketch before the festivities began.

Plein Air Nightmare Gone Rocky

Oil on Rock

This afternoon I gathered up my paints, and headed out into wild blue yonder on this beautiful September day. I set up by the stream and was ready to paint......except I had forgot my panels! This is what is known as a plein air painter's nightmare. At this point I was much too far away to drive back and get them, so instead of letting myself get be overcome by anger, hate, malice, ill content and the like.....I improvised, with rocks.

Weave Thy Forest Green In Tangled Blues
